History has seen hero after hero come and go, tiny distractions in the world stage who only barely touch the spotlight. And then, there's the other kind. The kind that is remembered in legends for centuries, to the point where future generations aren't even sure if their exploits were feasible, let alone real. You have the potential to be one of the latter group. All you need is a little refinement. Here at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, we can give you that refinement. We can help you become a legend. But first, lets make sure you don't end up accidentally blowing yourself up with your uncontrolled and untested abilities. We can also help with that.
Tier 1
Mutation Specialist - You've taken the basic courses provided in Power Control 101, and those lessons have made you more adept in superpower usage than the average mutant. You gain a one point bonus to the usage of any superpowers.
Alum of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters - You're ready to learn whatever you can to become a hero! Now, what area did you focus in? You gain a one point bonus to a stat of your choosing.
Tier 2
Homo Superior: Superior Human [Strength] - Without any training, you're at the level of the world's most well-trained strongmen. What could you do when you start applying yourself? You gain the superpower "Peak Human Strength". However, this power may level up the more you use it until level 100, at which point it will evolve into a more advanced version (Which can then be leveled up again). As you level the power up, you may also get other benefits.
Reaction Time - Self-Defence class taught you the truth about time: It's all about perception. Once per encounter, as an immediate reaction to an opponent's attack you may activate this ability as a free action and slow your perception of time down, giving you more time to react and doubling your defensive roll against them.
Tier 3
Mutation Specialist (Bonus) - The lessons in Power Control 201 weren't much harder than 101, but they gave you a lot to think about. You now gain a three point bonus to the usage of any superpowers.
Alum of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters (Bonus) - Knowledge is power! You gain a one point bonus to a stat of your choosing.
Tier 4
Homo Superior: Superior Human [Speed] - Zzzzzooooooooooooom. You gain the superpower "Peak Human Speed". However, this power may level up the more you use it until level 100, at which point it will evolve into a more advanced version (Which can then be leveled up again). As you level the power up, you may also get other benefits.
Emergency Mutation - You don't exactly have the most "stable" genes. In fact, they're probably liable to mutate at any moment. Well, they were, before one of your teachers used his abilities to stabilize your DNA and put its mutagenic powers in your hands. Once per day, mission, or bounty, you may randomize a superpower as a simple action to use for three turns.
Tier 5
True Power (Unique) - Every good superhero has that one power that they're totally known for. Like The Flash and super speed, or Superman and... everything. Obviously you need one too! And you better start training it too. Make it impressive. Pick one of your superpowers. You may now roll 1.25x its stat for its usage.
Alum of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters (Bonus) - You're in the one school in the entire multiverse where you're actually excited to learn new things. Except for maybe Hogwarts. You gain a one point bonus to a stat of your choosing.
Tier 6
Homo Superior: Superior Human [Intelligence] - You're smarter than a computer and at least 2.56143 times as cute. You gain the superpower "Peak Human Intelligence". However, this power may level up the more you use it until level 100, at which point it will evolve into a more advanced version (Which can then be leveled up again). As you level the power up, you may also get other benefits.
Tier 7
Alum of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters (Bonus) - Mutatis Mutandis. You gain a one point bonus to a stat of your choosing.
Tier 8
Homo Superior: Superior Human [Endurance] - You started running at the track meet, and didn't notice that everyone else had stopped running to watch you go for at least an hour. You weren't even winded. Or hungry for that matter. You gain the superpower "Peak Human Endurance". However, this power may level up the more you use it until level 100, at which point it will evolve into a more advanced version (Which can then be leveled up again). As you level the power up, you may also get other benefits.
Tier 9
Mutated (Bonus) - It just never ends, does it? You get a random superpower! You may reroll this power once if you do not like what you get. You must choose to use your reroll before going on your first mission with this power.
Tier 10
True Power (Unique Bonus) - With some serious effort and some serious power, you've made your signature power into a trump card. No villains can stand up to its might. You may now roll 1.5x your signature power's stat.
Tier 11
Alum of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters (Bonus) - You've started taking the advanced courses that normal students aren't privvy to. Well they're learning to simply control their powers, you're training to become one of the X-Men. So cool! You gain a one point bonus to a stat of your choosing.
Tier 12
Homo Superior: Superior Human [Luck] - You feel... luckier? How do you even quantify that? Upon gaining this ability, you may reroll any of your already gotten superpowers once. You must take the reroll. From this point on, you may reroll your random powers twice.
Tier 13
Mutation Specialist (Bonus) - School? Who needs it. You've got on the job experience now, and that is waaaaaaaay more valuable. Although you still have to go to school and get your degree. Bureaucracy, ugg. The most powerful and evil villain that you can't even punch in the face. You now gain a five point bonus to any and all superpower rolls.
